Updated: Jan 18

  1. Research your itinerary

  2. Budget all costs from : plane ticket (deals, seasonality, weather) , accommodation type (report , hotel, guest house, airbnb)

  3. Tours (research ahead but also consider booking once in destinationation locally could be cheaper ). Great starting places are Viator , Airbnb Experience, getyourguide or Tripadvisor for the most poupular ones.

  4. Hiring a local guide - research and contact them ahead on Instagram, online , what's app when in country

  5. Food & drinks- Breakfast inclusive of accommodation or not

  6. Pocket money: Prepare your fee free debit cards like Monzo & Revolut and if you can buy some change in your destination country to avid long queues at the airport / ATM on arrival, either JAM dollars or USD are accepted in any touristy location

  7. Free roaming destination or not - Digital detox here I come! Check your mobile provider

  8. Packing in a more organised manner with Travel cubes for your suitcase

  9. Plugs adaptators, ask before had to guide or friends on what type UK to US/ UK to Europe ones

  10. Check website like Viator, tripadvisor, airbnb experience to find cheaper shuttle aiport pick up, as distance are massive, on average 2h to 3 h to join any other big town fom Montego Bay airport
